From our recent design competition, we learned that interior designers and consumers still enjoy their love affair with animal prints.
Animal print continues to be hot fashion as indicated in the April issue of Vogue Magazine. The "Flash Talking Fashion" page headline states the following:
Cat Power -- As major pieces or accents, leopard prints are on the prowl for spring.
Be sure to check out Kate Hudson's head-to-toe "wild" outfit.
With over 900 entries in our competition, a vast majority had faux zebra or faux leopard hairhide added to everything from trays to screens to chiffoniers, as well as upholstered pieces.
In case you missed our competiton, we invited professional designers, consumers and our dealers (in other words, everyone) to visit our website, "ONE, Singularly Crafted for You" program, and design their custom furniture piece using over 100 options. These include an extensive collection of handsome wood and painted finishes, exotic materials, extravagant inlays and hand tooled accents and elegant embellishments. Designs are seen instantly as they are created. The winners of our competition had their completed designs presented to them during the furniture market at a cocktail gala celebrating design.
An example of consumer entry is this tray with faux zebra hairhide. The animal print adds texture and interest to a simple piece. The original tray, 2530-121, is all wood.
Another entry is this dramatic chiffonier, with faux zebra hairhide. (5130-427) The difference is amazing.
Again, the look of this stool (4231-067),is completely transformed by the application of faux leopard hairhide.
Each of these contest entries shows how application of animal print adds pizzazz to a traditional piece. Wild continues to be a bold statement. If you are inspired to take a walk on the wild side, add some animal print to your decor. To see the contest winners, visit our website today.
